Here goes...im laying brick bond tiling in my bathroom...The first course of tiles(all full tiles)when laid out gives me a small slither at the far end.Could start with a half tile but when it comes to the second course Im gonna end up with the same prob...Any suggestions...Im a newbie when it comes to tiling but have good d i y skills...thanks fellas:smilewinkgrin:

what about taking 40mm of the first tile?
would that not look ok,it would leave you starting with a 290 & 125 cut, more cuts but should look ok:thumbsup:

If it doesnt work out shift the pattern down the wall until the slither has gone. Id rather have it off centre than have a slither that will always draw your eye.

cheers guys....what do you mean shift the pattern down the wall, the slither is 3cm and im using full tlies on the first row, cheers

He means move the tiles along to get the best look, have you tried moving your first row along so that you have equal cuts at each end?

using my idea gives you a 70mm and 235mm cut, doesn't look to bad you could always chop another 20/30mm giving you 90/100mm and 155/165mm and would still look ok:thumbsup:

Vince (welcome by the way) have you worked the pattern from the centre of the wall? If so then if you have a slither it should be at BOTH ends? You only said one which makes me think your starting from one end with a full tile.....
