Hi everyone. First time poster. Be gentle!

I’m going to tank my shower enclosure and need to go around two internal corners. I want to use Mapei’s Waterproofing kit, with the addition of their preformed corner sections of mapeband, bonded to straight sections of mapeband to form a continuous barrier around the bottom of the walls. I’m not that keen on the method of ‘nicking’ the mapeband in the corner and overlapping it using the mapegum as (in my mind at least) that introduces a weak point. I think the corners bonded to straight sections should provide greater peace of mind.

What can I use to bond the sections of mapeband? The technical info on Mapei’s website says to use adesilex LP, T or T super, none of which seem to be available anywhere.

Any ideas on a suitable alternative? I was thinking a standard neoprene contact adhesive might do the trick.

Or is this just a bad idea?

All advice gratefully received!

The mapegum becomes a rubbery substance that'll cope fine in the corners if you 'nick' the internal corner stuff and fold it. It's pretty good stuff that.
