Yeah Aquapanel should be tanked. I’ve ripped out a few dozen jobs where Aquapanel was used. It was popular here in the mid to late 90’s. Every shower was perfect. I’d not be worried about Aquapanel unless it was a wet room.
Knauf should add a layer of waterproof material to the core of their panel, would make perfect sense.
Oh, Aquapanel, doesn’t come away from the tiles ever. Its always a big mess trying to take tiles off Aquapanel. Mesh everywhere, lots of cement fragments.
