Its funny how most of the people that knock the NVQ do not have one

I've just done a bathroom for a retired decorator, he taught at college during his last few years of work and he said NVQ3 was the only one worth having, 1 & 2 are bits of paper with 'words' on.

Well maybe in P&D they are but if you look at the criteria for the NVQ level 2 Wall and Floor Tiling and you can provide the witness testimonies and photographic evidence that proves you carry out this work as a mater of routine in your day to day working life then I have no doubt you are a real tiler.

Unfortunately the thigns that bring the NVQ validity into question is the integrity of the centres and the assessors. IMHO the assessors are most responsible as they should not allow centres to get away with the things they are getting away with. Assessors should be untouchable and approve or reject a portfolio on its merits not on a centres need for pass rates.
