hi guys, anyone used the ardex wpc water protection system?
on the side of the box it reads "ready to tile after 2 hours" but on the leaflet inside it says to aply the second coat after 30 minutes and you can tile 60 minutes after that, thats less than 2 hours for both coats!
i dont want to be waiting around for no reason but then i dont want to tile to early

I watched the Ardex guys doing the demo at Hampden trade show & they said you can tile after 90 mins.
I was impressed with it & you can see the colour change in the 1st coat after about 15/20 mins.

I didnt wait long enough to see it after 90 mins but the 1st coat was touch dry very quickly.

It does dry very quick. And to be honest, by the time you have thrown all your buckets, rubber gloves and tools away (because it ain't worth trying to get them or your hands clean), it will be dry to tile onto. Also, bear in mind that you will need a laser level because you wont be able to see your pencil mark either.

It's horrible stuff, IMO, but good luck anyway.

It's the quickest one on the market, use a short pile paint roller and an emulsion tray, I've found that the first coat takes about 45 minutes, (on plasterboard) and the second coat takes about an hour and a half. It's so easy to use.
