Agilia concrete...

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

I have a job booked in, 26m floor, half is onto quarry tiles, the other half is a product called "agilia concrete" have you heard of this?
Is it ok to tile straight onto it, (obviously with primer) I was planning on using the tile master flex rapid trade adhesive. (C2)

Thanks, Dave.

It is a pourable cement screed ... It does normally require sanding to remove a waxy top residue from the hardening agent.

It used to be sprayed but if I recall correctly it is incorporated within the pour now...

how large an area is the screed ? .. They normally insert an expansion joint at 3mtr intervals .

Unsure what the area split is yet, I will be popping over to have a look soon, I will bare that in mind..
To add to the mix, I have since been told it has been primed with a "tiling primer"!! So it is ready to go.
I will do my homework on this one!

Dave Howe has given the answer....

i went onto a new build development yesterday to delivery 100m2 of tiles, whilst unloading foreman told me theyd laid agilia screed this week, and they are to tile next week.

#gulp.

i just dont get how this can still be happening? floor hasnt been commissioned, its going to fail and fail badly.

i mean, even on the lafarge website it gives you all the info you need.

That has got disaster written all over it Lee ..

Lack of knowledge is just ignorance .

Do screed layers or even the suppliers supply data sheets to customers/builders..? On drying / curing of said screeds..

a basic data sheet would go a long way to avoiding customer heartache .
