heys guys managed to get some scrap poreclain tiles today to try in my new vitres 750 noticed its chipping when cutting even on lines that have been scored with the tx 700 ive changed the blade as well from the standard one to a titan blade is this the problem to i need to go a bit more up market on the blade ?? or it it the norm ??

cheers all

by looking at the front of my t shirt i would say so lol its only small chipping say 1-3mm both sides theres was a small wobble on the blade but i tapped it true

I found the virtex blades to be no good, and changed it to a rubi cpc2, good blade, the saw is now on its last legs so there is a twice used blade up for grabs.

Hi,

Sounds odd to me. I purchased the 750 Vitrex a couple of months ago and have had nothing but great results with it. Find it very smooth, fast and fairly quiet.

The only thing I can suggest is that the blade might not be 100% secure? I admit I was a bit of a wally putting the thing together the first day and the blade was very wobbly - turned out I had it the wrong way round!!! Once fitted correctly I find the blade brilliant. I much prefer the cutter to a Rubi 180 that I had used previously - although it is a bit of a weight to transport!

Don't suppose the blade is worn and needs replaced?

Hope some of that helps?

I have the 750 and only used it on cheap flooring tiles from b&q ,but noticed the left side of the cut was chipping slightly ??

I've had the Vitrex blade in since I got my 750 about a year ago and never had any probs at all - still going strong.

Make sure it is straight, secure and the right way round:thumbsup:

i've only replaced my blades as they 'blunten'. still diamond left but it won't cut. i tried cutting a dry block to wear down to new diamonds but it never worked for me. £18 for a new blade in topps. i got a marchrist in there at the moment
