Hi All
Went to see this 30m2 kitchen floor job today for a builder, can you see any problems with the spec..

25mm plywood onto 75mm x 50mm treated timbers @400mm centres, supported around all the edges and timbers are screwed down onto the concrete sub floor.
Should a standard flexible adh & grout be ok?

i wouldnt recommend anything but 2 part for direct bonding onto ply wood but there are plenty that would use a spf

If the ply was treated in SPR before fitting ie: underside & edges, I don't see any problems in using a SPF. If ply has not been primed before fitting, I'd use a 2 part

Nice reminder! Ply has been cut but has not been fitted as sparkys are running cables around/under at the minute.

After looking into it further it seems that a standard flexy is not the way to go.So would you chose Bal Fastflex or Mapei ultraflex? I have used the Fastflex before but not the Ultraflex, the Fastflex price is a bit eyewatering tho!!!!!

Always use a two part rubber crumb when ply is directly onto joists. SPF is only suitable with over boarding IMO.
