1st Square Hole

Thought I'd share my 1st square hole I did in this ceramic tile.. I'm rather pleased it didn't crack on me.

Used a 16mm 365 diamond bit in each if the corners and then a carbide bladed jigsaw to cut out the waste tile.

Lastly filed down the excess.

It ain't perfect but the accessory would cover it up anyway 🙂

Tomorrow's task? Using my new angle grinder and diamond blade 🙂

Let's see what damage I can do with that!! Haha

Looks like the blade has strayed a bit. How did you brace the tile to stop it chattering against the jigsaw?

The file strayed :/ live and learn!! Will aim for a neater cut tomorrow..

I used rubber tipped clamps to hold the tile on my workbench to secure the tile in place. I need to get a rubber mat to sit the tile on really so it takes the vibrations but I didn't have one so laid it naked on the wooden slat..

you could of also nibbled it out with some pinchers mate but grinder is also a good quick way 😉

another tip also is to try and get these to fall on a grout joint you cant always but most the time it doesn't compromise the set out
