Hi all, please bare with me as I am a plasterer by trade but quite handy round the house. I want to tile my hallway with some new slick white tiles and follow straight through into the kitchen. Now I have done this many years ago at my old place with ply wood base but have never used these...
I have part completed shower stall with a partial Schluter kerdi membrane install on the floor. Can I pour Levelquick over the Kerdi? Then new Kerdi on top? It seems the slop to the drain is too steep and I want to reduce it to 1/8" per foot. The shower is 78" by 48" if that matters
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum and I'm looking for your experts' advice in a situation that I'm stuck in. This is a 1980's house and we already have an in-screed electric underfloor heating (nearly 40 years old) on a concrete base. We removed the existing laminate floor to lay tiles in...
Hi all, any help would be greatly appreciated. The kitchen floor I'm tiling (with 600x300 porc) is concrete, it does need levelling and was planning on using mapei. Once I've self levelled would I still need a de coupling membrane on top? I couldn't see any cracks, but there may well be some...

Hi all.
I've read a few forum comments or articles about the dangers of laying tiles over floating floors due to deflection and cracking of grout/tiles. Was just wondering if there was any sort of floating substrate board where a professional tiler would be comfortable laying tiles on...
The rationale behind the rapid setting mortar is to speed up the work. At the same time, a tanking system essentially traps any moisture inside. It seems to me that tanking shortly after the mortar sets (in, say, one or two hours) is a leap of faith. What do you think?
Hello!
I’m hoping I can get some advice on what to do in my kitchen RE wanting to replace the existing tiles that are over wet underfloor heating.
The Kitchen is in an extension that was built 5 or so years ago. The floor is concrete, 100mm cellotex, wet underfloor pipes, 50 or 60mm screed on...
We’re currently having our bathrooms fully redone including stripping back, boarding, tiling, suite etc. The works have been instructed through one company, who have sub-contracted out the tiling works.
Today we’ve had the tiler confirm he’s finished, however I haven’t been happy with the...
I was supposed to have a concrete floor finish so I have a contemporary floor look. The contractor did a very poor quality job and I realized I need to cover all the problems with something, so we decided to tile over it. The floor has a water based chemical resistant urethane sealant and I have...

Hello
45mm Anhydrite screed (Aggregate Industries 'Highflow') is now dry (moisture tested by contractor). Thoroughly dried out with 2 x dehumidifiers running 24x7 for 45 days. Wet UFH system in screed - but boiler is not yet installed - so can't take the floor through a thermal stress cycle...
Good evening,
I’m hoping someone can assist with a question I have regarding tanking over Wedi board.
I’m currently renovating my bathroom and turning it into a wet room. I’ve laid an Impey Aqua Dec-4 former and for the immediate shower area walls I’ve removed the old plasterboard and replaced...
Hi, new to tiling and just have a quick question. I am tiling a kitchen splash back. The splash back currently has tiles and was wonder should these be removed or can you tile over them? If removed do you need to re plaster or use a membrane maybe?
thanks,
