deposits for every job even small jobs just take a smaller deposit relevant to the job cost will sort this out, used to get this sometimes too but its stopped since i went the deposit route- kilty55

Do you take a deposit?
i ask for deposits on nearly all jobs regardless of size, there was a period of a month last year when iw as really busy and didnt ask a few for deposits and hey ho it raised its ugly head again and one went elsewhere and another started mucking me about so for me the deposit upfront works.- kilty55

nice work phil, are the planks from fired earth? i also find a lot of these people think trades are the scum of the earth, generally i bite my lip on these jobs and at the end of the estimated job cost add on a lump sum for the extra materials i had to use. give them a taste of there own...- kilty55

Knauf 6mm aqua panel boards
hi mike i only use aquapanel 6mm sheets, personally i prefer them to hardi boards...yes they feel very brittle /flexible but once bedded into adhesive and screwed down and set you will find the product changes and is a very solid base to tile from...try getting one up once fitted its not much...- kilty55

2 week tiling course
ok doug, well if its a course provider with a good reputation yes i would say its worthwhile to learn something but youll need to back it up with more than 2 weeks to go alone, can you do a bigger course? start with friends and family jobs?- kilty55
