    Liquid screeds

Properly prepped cant see an issue. Prefer to see gypsum based addy used though.

    Warranty

not possible to diagnose the issue here. It could be any one or a combination of many things. no the tiler is not bound to replace them under warranty unless his warranty specifically says he does. The tiles and the installation should be fit for purpose and "reasonably robust" it would...

    General Advice Please

Movement joints are the proper name for Expansion joints (I'm a screed tech guy so a bit pedantic on naming) screeds and of course tile expand and contract so the joints are there to mitigate risks of failure due to movement in both directions. from the screeds perspective there should be...

    General Advice Please

Ah I see. Fair enough. In terms of advice the only thigs I will say are that all movement joints in the screed must reflect through the tiles. your idea of a colour matched Silicon is fine and movement joints should be between 5 and 12mm wide. I'll leave the tilers to advise on the rest.

You'll not get anyone to say " yes...good idea bat man, you clearly know your stuff better than the experts" unless in a sarcastic manner. It's not a cost...

Slate over Anhydrite screed - commissioning a

It sits between 3 trades but you are the main contractor/client so you carry ultimate responsibility. You are also the one who is paying so if it goes wrong you will be the one who ultimately picks up the bill. I'm not sure what you are trying but failing to understand. Conflicting views on...

Slate over Anhydrite screed - commissioning a

Ive added a couple of asterisked notes to your research There are 2 primary reasons for commissioning the underfloor heating with any screed. The first is that it helps to force dry the screed. The second and much more importantly, when you turn on the heating you will cause the screed to...

Something that may benefit a few

Depends what you mean by contactable. I can see a point where a requirement to be contactable could become intrusive and unreasonable.
