Evening gents, was just looking over on the plasterers forum and a chap had started a new thread on plastering tips.
Thought I would steal the idea and see what happens on here.
Its always good to know other people's tips which can save time and money.
Even the simple things.

On a serious note if you find yourself in a position with no toilet a plastering bucket with empty plaster/adhesive bag knife makes a good makeshift poopa

Thought we did this a few weeks ago.... mine was .....always clean your buckets out as they are gold dust in our industry unless you keep buying them like a der der.

I always have a bucket of water which I clean my drill in after each mix or tools at the end of the day.
If I'm using pre mix I.e white star, as soon as I finish the adhesive I transfer the water give a good scrub then keep bucket as its like brand saves a fortune.

Just looked at the previous tiling tips thread sorry I wasn't around back in 2015 so I missed it, I did like the tip on using hardie or mdf as a hole stencil/guide tho.

I brought myself a Bosch GTR30 tile router and it makes mincemeat of cutting holes. The motor is impressive and beats any cordless or sds. It's variable speed too.

I will second that by saying use only ONE bucket for white grout! Nothing worse than white grout with speckles of grey, black, jasmine, adhesive contamination through it. Can turn the best tiling job in the world to the worst...

Or engineers..
I just put them straight and tell them the building industry isn't the same as their industry . I tell don't expect your walls to be straight .don't expect your room to be square . They're easy to spot by way they talk .
