Thanks to replies to an earlier post, I am re-fitting my new 22mm WBP ply floor with expansion gaps & I will also coat with primer on the underside & edges (to reduce risk of moisture absorbtion).

Can anyone recommend what sort of primer I should be using for this? Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else, but I searched a couple of posts & although they confirm priming is needed, I couldn't find what sort needs to be used.

(The flooring is for a wet-room.... after fitting the ply I will be over-boarding with Marmox and fitting an Impey tanking membrane).

Thanks in advance for any advice.....

Hiya
Don't use PVA, it's a big no no as it breaks down in contact with water.
Bal Bond will be fine or Mapei primer G. If you can't get these then normal SBR should be fine.

If you apply 2-3 coats 'Mapei primer S' it will create a waterproof film, for the underside of the boards

OK - great.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Really appreciate the help. I'm off to local supplier tomorrow to find one of the above recommended compounds....
