I'm currently using a Vitrex 900 bridge saw with a cheapo Erbauer blade for my marble cutting. I take 10mm thick tiles and cut them into 4mm thick strips to create the mosaic pieces. I fix the blade in place with a clamp then push the tiles through, the image shows the cutting template I use to ensure they are all the same thickness.

It's been great so far the trouble is it is very slow, I want to be able to get the tiles through faster so, do I;

Get a more expensive blade, ie Marcrist?
Get a more powerful saw, say 1200/1800w?

The saw and the blade cut fine but it's just very slow pushing the tile through. Pulling the blade across is just as slow and the blade is more inclined to stop, (I can't do this one handed either so I have to put my book down:smilewinkgrin🙂.

Any opinions gratefully received

A better blade would certainly help but, the power of that saw is quite low. I used to own one before upgrading to the dewalt and the dewalt is twice as quick getting through hard tiles.

Thanks, I don't want to have to mess about with the electrics, I think 1800w is the highest I can go?

I think I'm going to have to go a try one out, they've got way to many recommendations not too.
Would I be able to set up a cutting template like the one on the Vitrex?
