Does anybody have any experience of using the Sterad STARS online software?
I have used it to calculate the radiator output required for my proposed garage conversion.
LABC require it to be insulated to a high standard and I am able to achieve these figures in theory:
Walls: (excluding internal side wall at zero ) 0.18W/m2K
Ceiling: 0.16W/m2K
Floor: 0.16W/m2K
Doors window 1.4W/m2K (2.5m x 2.1m door and 1mx1m window)
I have incorporated these into the calculation as the default configurations do not include my insulation requirement values
These are the results in the attachment
(flow temp of 55c and return 40c are missing from the top of the screen grab)
The result appears as 1005w or 3432 btu
If this is correct, would a single Stelrad compact vertical K2 at 10246 btu suffice at a correction figure of 0.426?
I have tried the other simplified online calculators but they hve no or little insulation content and are not applicable here.
Does this make sense?
I woud like to run it by somebody with experience please.
