Travertine With Ufh

Hi All,

I have 15 m2 of travertine on concrete floor. Part of that will be with electric UFH.

I want to put insulation for whole area, then wire, then tiling, grouting and sealant. White flexible adhesive.

Do I need anything else?

Hi Greg , 10mm minimum insulation is a must imho mate...

And i prefer to enscapulate ufh wires in slc before tiling..

Personally I do yes. I know many fixers and manufacturers (including Marmox) are content with the insulation boards providing the decoupling and it does without doubt serve this purpose perfectly, but for the belt & braces approach I always do. 🙂

Some stones are prone to cracking through thermal expansion , depends on quality and fissures within stone.

Yep , i like to overkill as well with softer stones On larger areas but i have stuck direct to slc on small floors..

This UFH will be 6m2. Decoupling should be on top of that only or for whole area?
