I try not to work for Builders for this reason. Most pay late. They use tradesmen almost to finance their work. Ive always invoiced end of week 7 days to pay or Im off. Materials up front.
I agree with @Simon Dale I get hacked of with large companies getting trades to bankroll their jobs . I think the government should outlaw 90 day 120 day payments at the longest it should be 30 day end if month invoice ( not that I'm doing that ) of course this couldn't happen overnight as there wouldn' be the money in the pot .So government should bring it from 120 to 90 to 60 then to 30 over a course of say four years so that would then mean if a company like Carrillion go down they are left owing a significantly smaller amount .
