Tool Storage solutions

Thought I'd start a dedicated thread for this, after investing in some DeWalt tstak items this year it's spured me on to get more organised with everything else. what's your solutions ? How do you store those arkward things like dust sheets ? Levels? Clips ? Grout bags? Blue rolls? Mixer ?

Anyone else use the tstak or similar ?

Throw the dust sheets down in the van then the loose stuff on top. When arriving at your destination simply grab the 4 corners of the dust sheet, put them together, then lift it all out at once!

Errrrrrr got the van all racked out with dexion slotted angle and heavy load shelving. It all just fits in there. It’s been in three vans now. Added to it here and there. It all just bolts together.

I used to have all my tools stacked in systainer boxes but it made the thief’s job easier when stealing from me, all stacked on ply shelving now, each tool has its own shelf.

I keep my spacers, wedges and clips in old Tupperware boxes on shelves and trowels, floats and sponges in a big wheeled tool box.

Stanley blades I keep by the 100 in a dispenser, I need loads of them for all the lvt I convince customers they need.

Power tools were (and are being replenished) into makstack cases.
Ply lined and shelved for my main Sigma cutters.
Box shelving for spacers, clips, tubes etc.
Wet saw, tool bags and boxes have their spaces.
Mixer has a space stood up and secured.
Trowels are quick-release secured on my doors using strips of tile trim.
I hate anything rattling around!

I only do the tiler on the first and last day
working my van is full.
and of course in random order, all in containers, baskets ect.
the rest of the days is almost empty, in the evening I put and remove the tools
according to the work I have to do the next day.
the thieves opened the van 3 times, but they did not find any tools.
once there was a wallet with 300 €, they did not see it.

If your lucky enough to have a garage, I'm sure it's much easier to keep organised and carry only what you need to. My new years resolution it to stop carrying 8 part bags of grout! I've had the same ones since 2014 and there not getting used
Storing sigmas is an issue also.

Mainly because of where I live!

Not really, I have deadlocks fitted.
I find they are a good deterrent, they move on to the next van.

Built the ply shelving in the van around the tool boxes so no wasted space.. Big plastic tub for clips, top long shelf for levels and battons, misses's old spice rack for silicone trowels slide into racks on the back door. Your right about a garage or shed though..definitely makes it easier to keep things organised, bought a 18ft shed last year for storage and fishing tackle... Do worry about it getting broken into, infact I'd be devastated if the fishing gear got nicked but have the contents insured on home insurance incase the worst happens..

Yeah I think they’re a really good deterrent.

One side of the van is all shelving for cutters, bags grout, tubs spacers etc.
I’ve got the jcb stack system ( similar to dewalt and magnusson ) one for all small tools pencils etc, middle one brief case size for grinder blades holes saws polish pads and the bottom deeper one for floor laying tools

I have makstack for electrical tools griders, drills etc . I am finding the catches a pain , also I broke one the other day , i think the plastic is to brittle so they will be getting swapped out for another system

Storing sigmas is an issue also.

Why don’t you put a false floor in so that you can slide your sigmas under it?
I’ve seen a few do it.

Still need to rack out the van. Too busy working to do it. Will no doubt get it done in the New year. Bound to be some slack time.
Started transferring all my tools into these.

I’m going to try to make it so I can have the main floor of the van pretty much free so can load full 8x4 sheets and other materials or load up wet cutter or big mitre saw and stand.

I’ll be presumptuous and take it you’re replying to me Andy if you design it right you can fit backer boards in there too.
Not too many of course, just 2 or 3 to get you out of trouble now and again.
I’m sure there’d be room for boards one side and Sigma the other.

I think they need to be a snug fit to avoid sliding about, and a nice thick board to avoid sagging, central spine. I'll get on with it in Jan!

Split your floor in half and get some thick foam to wedge in against your cutter. It doesn’t matter then what type of cutter you have, or indeed what you slide under the floor.
Of course an ungrateful clients body won’t make a noise if it moves about anyway.

They aren't the best for sure and I agree the catches are stiff and difficult.
I found a squirt of silicone spray really helps though.

I have a high roof van and often wondered about somehow attaching a tile cutter to the ceiling of the van. Another whacky idea
