Hi all,

I'm after some advice regarding using Lithofin Colour Intensifier on a newly laid patio of black Indian Limestone.

How long would you suggest waiting - we are being told approx 8 weeks, but this would mean grouting before sealing which from what I've read is not the way round do it.

Can it be done before grouting once the slabs are dry? Our should we really wait 8 weeks in which case what happens about the grouting?

Any advice would be appreciated.

TIA

You will need to ensure that all moisture from the install is released prior to sealing with the colour intensifier , this can indeed take 6-8 weeks, if you grout prior to the sealing you would need to ensure that the grout/pointing will not bleed into the stone edges and also not contaminate the face if the stone , I assume you will point these and not slurry over the face. Note, even if you seal/ impregnate stone ,grouts can still contaminate the face on these textured stones. Seal an unlaid stone and always test your grout release on this before completing the area.Speak to your supplier for installation guidance.
