This is not so much a symptom of not needing as much steel now as it is of not having needed as much construction steel for several years. People have also introduced different technologies as steel prices having been very high for a long time. There is actually quite a bit of good news flying around recently which is encouraging. Ironically it was announced earlier this week that Mittal, a massive steel producer, are buying the divested assets of Tarmac and lafarge and getting int the concrete and quarrying game.... Still tough times but also very interesting
