it aint helping that im still learning i suppose. my first week back in the local rag, and i get a call last friday ,to price 2 bathroom floors in one house

the owner laid em straight on the green chipboard and theyve cracked over the joints, he used tubbed gear ,so i thought theyll come up easy

NAH!!!! 5 m2 took me nearlt 7 hours today, ive had an absolute nightmare
i asked him if the tub of addy had a pic on the front of a richard the 3rd on a blanket

anyway its done now i can hoover up tommorow and get my ply down

ive just got out the bath and im gettin meself round a strongbow

latest lesson learnt= rip out on hourly rate

steve did you use an sds drill mate? generally even with stubborn tiles these wd have been up in an hour max worth the investement

I use my bosch with the chisel attached, takes a lot less time.

I'am assuming -richard the 3rd on a blanket - is a form of ryhming slang!
Although you are going for plywood overlay did you consider the Hardie backer board/similar as an alternative.
If the green chipboard is deflection free at 6mm the cement boards offer an advantage over plywood.

im gonna have to get a hammer drill chiselly bit boys

the tiles wernt too bad to get up ,it was the adyy stuck on the deck

john , theres a really tiny bit of bounce in one small area so im going for 12mm ply as hieght isnt a problem,cheers boys ,steve
