i did an orangery a few years ago ,was the last time i did any,with the odd sheet of mosaic terracotta two different depths the field/mosaic,i had to set a ceramic-floor tile under the mosaic to build them up to the correct level ,

even tiled quiet a few shop floors with them :yikes: even grouted some before they were sealed

We grout ours before we seal them - don't like the idea of loosening any whilst crawling around oiling them - so we lay them, grout them, clean them,oil them (many times!), wax them, polish them and THEN we can walk on them. Guess it is hard work but it's worth the effort to get the authentic look. Off for a lie down now!!
