Never tiled onto it myself, but know people who have. Its not on their technical data sheet, but there definitely will be a layer to remove before tiling.

I was bored so I rang them for you to confirm it 🙂

You're a gent thank you. Think I'll leave that one in the builders hands to sort out then.

Just out of interest, what is the best method for getting rid of it? scraper and a brush?

It should be treated the same as añy other gypsum based screed.

What with a wide birth :triumph::triumph:

Only if you're a bit dim and can't follow the simple advice given in all sorts of easy to access places about tiling to gypsum screeds,... Or you want to walk away from the several hundred thousands of square merterrs of tiling work available on them...

So what is the best method of cleaning up a new anhydrite screed before tiling, baring in mind i'm not a tiler and never done it before?

Usual advice from us is to use an STR sander or floor scarifier with minimum 60grit paper. Most recent hire sites will be able to supply. Followed by vacuum cleaner to get rid of the dust. Some people use a diamond or carborundum block sander. Either way it needs to be a mechanical abrasion.
