any idea how to get some minor scratches off a laminate kitchen worktop?
a small splinter of tile was lodged under one of the heavy boxes and was then scraped across the kitchen bench!
the scratch isnt bad. if you lick your finger and rub it, it disapears, but then comes back when its dried!
would cooking oil or something similar rubbed in take it away??

We have a black laminate work surface which received a little scratch a few years back. We used a little bit of boot polish to take out the whiteness and it has held up fine - can't be seen.

A larger chip on an edge was disguised using a black sharpie pen. Dotted the ink over the area and wiped off the excess. Ink stayed and filled the damaged area and came off the undamaged areas.

this is a brown wood block effect worktop, much like a laminate floor. do you think brown shoe polish would work?
it has'nt got a glossy finish or nothing, its quite dull.
