Hi all
I'm going to tile my kitchen walls today with glass mosaic tiles. They are quite heavy. Unfortunately, the walls have already been painted with an emulsion mist coat (and in parts, there is at least one coat of kitchen paint too).
Do I need to remove the mist coat before I start tiling? Or can I just score the surface of the walls? If I do need to remove the paint... how do I do it? A search of this forum tells me it needs to be done "mechanically" - do I need a sharp scraper, or sandpaper?
Any advice welcome. For what it's worth, I'll be using BAL white star adhesive because the supplier of the tiles couldn't tell me if mosiac fix was OK to use with them.
