Evening all have got a job coming up to re-seal a conservatory floor i tiled about seven years ago. its about 20m2 of tumbled travertine with a colour enhancing sealant on it (still looks good). The customer has contacted me and asked if i would re-seal it for them , my question is what method/products do you employ/use to remove/strip old sealant before re-sealing thanks

cheers for the reply mate does that strip old sealer aswell ready for re-sealing or does it just give a really deep clean . Has anyone ever used somesort of machine for washing off old sealant to save elbow grease that would be safe to use on travertine thanks

You will need a slow speed rotary floor scrubber & a wet vac. Pre wet the floor then apply Natural stone deep cleaner like LTP grimex mixed to correct ratio. Agitate & give it 5-10mins dwell time. clean it up with the wet vac and rinse the floor with clean water. I would add a bit of Honing powder if i was cleaning the floor. Let the floor dry overnight then apply sealer following instructy=ion.

There are many different prodcts to use , i would go with Nu-Life wax residue remover with a slow rotary scrubber , Then seal with their natural stone sealer.

A little late replying to this but I used Grimex to prep a floor ready for re- sealing and it did a cracking job.
