sorry for confusion. yeah its a paint stirrer for some reason ive always known them as paddles. anyhoo, ive often seen wooden ones but not plastic ones. where are they hiding?? lol

If you want a paint stirrer then you can find them in many decorators supplys

Dulux Decorator Centres
Brewers
Johnsons/Layland
Crown

although not many decorators use them (more of a product suited to the DIYer or mixing minimal amounts of paint) most use a whisk for mixing paint.

I've also seen the stirrers in places like homebase and what not.

I'm sure it's all down to what we a used to but have you ever tried a bucket trowel?

i knew what you meant and as i said

go to a paint suppliers

i prefer these to wood as you can clean them, either wiping with a rag whenever you use them or peeling the paint off when its built up

refina sell all sorts of mixing paddles trowels just take a look they sell ones that go in side a barrel when you start the drill the fins flick up and mix then when you stop they drop then pull it out

iv got 2 wooden mixing plungers with a plastic head on them got them from TP but cant get them agen is there a sit that sell them :incazzato:

lol sorry guys for spreading confusion, i see me calling these things 'paddles' is a bit misleading and i stand corrected they are simply paint stirrers. In reply to earlier posts yes, i've used a margin trowel, just once or twice😉 i just found the plastic mixer a useful wee tool for mixing smaller quantities of grout. the one i had was similar to the picture posted by color republic only without the holes in it and it was hard plastic therefor quite rigid. I couldnt find similar ones online and wondered if anyone else had. like i said, not something i lose sleep over but its wee odds and ends like that i prefer to get online so that when it arrives its like a little present to myself:drool5: Anyway thanks for all the suggestions lads🙂
