How about a movie review/discussion forum. Could be a good place for folks to leave comments on a film they have just seen, help people decide what film to go and see at the pics after a long day at work? I loves me films! What do you guys think?

Not a bad idea - depend what kind of film you like ?
I love my horror films - best one I have seen recently was Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning. Seen Saw 3 - boring - too much gore for the sake of it - generally not a good film :icon8:
Also best funny film I've seen in a while was 40 Year Old Virgin - got this only last month - know it has been out a while - LOL 🙂

Not a big horror fan myself, enjoyed The Descent though. Love 40 Year Old Virgin though!

Bought Borat on DVD - a bit disappointed - think the hype spoilt it for me.
One to give a go is Hard Candy - a bit different - well holds your attention, many twists, only 2 actors one male and one female for most of the film - amazing !!!
Don't want to tell you too much about it in case you have not seen it - would spoil it 🙂

Have seen it mate, not many films i haven't seen, huge fan of the film industry and yes it was a good film, Borat was absolutely crap, was bored half way through watching. 300 a good movie though, battle scenes are awesome, and there are plenty of them.

Have not seen it - heard it was on the lines of Sin City - didnt like - too cartoony - will give it a try though 🙂

Don't get out to the pictures much now- have widescreen telly & surround - tend to wait and get a job lot of ex rentals from Blockbuster - have drawers full now.
Mind you it's hard to get chance to watch as my little lad watches CBeebies all day and the wife watches all her soaps in the evening - that's why I spend so much time on the Forum !

varley - have you got a copy of Bankock Chick Boys ? Wivers wants to borrow it, he he

Well, the football and fishing forums don't really get used. I suppose we could just use the off-topic room for chatting about Movies?

Hill Have Eyes 2: Crap - don't even waste your life finding showing times for it. Nothing like the first one and really low budget.

Smokin Aces: Sort of never starts off well, and then ends. Probably worth watching but I wouldn't go the cinema for it. Just a £3 copy dvd off Mr DVD Man down the road would suffice.

There's a couple i've seen lately.

Mr Beans Holiday - very poor although the kids laughed (which was nice).
TMNT - Fantastic update of this classic, much better being CGi as no actors in rubber suits to spoil it. Kids really loved this one.
Meet The Robinsons - great story, very funny and superbly done. Your kids will love you forever.

Although all these seem kid related I though all you proud parents may like a heads up on what will earn you the adoration of your children.

On a more grown up front Pan's Labyrinth is quite possibly one of the best films I've seen in a while. It's sad, beautiful, happy, superbly shot and is very character driven so you really feel for what's going on on screen. Well worth a rental/purchase.

I like it, it's like bribing the kids into happiness 😀

GHOST RIDER

Definitely not the greatest film made, in fact doesn't even rank high with other comic book conversions to the big screen. There is no in-depth storyline to it (as you'd expect) and the acting is average. However the special effects are pretty impressive and if your just looking for something to sit and watch without having to think about it then this might be for you. Not my cup of tea though.

Have you seen the unofficial one with the guys on some crazy bikes in Sweden?

Jeez.....:icon9:

DEJA VU

All round good film. Good performance from Denzel Washington (how much weight has Val Kilmer put on 😱mg_smile🙂 as to be expected. Bit of a cross between Enemy Of The State and Minority Report, so if you liked these films odds on you'll like this one.

Ohh and i see the longest yard the other day. Ripp off i know but made me chuckle a few times.

4:30 pm Don't tile during the week though, haven't taken the plunge into full time self-employment yet. Trying to build up a reputation and a good portfolio, Killing me working 7 days a week but i absolutely love tiling and it's definitely what i want to do. It's also great to be part of such a great forum with people prepared to share their knowledge and experience with people like myself who are just starting out and there are a lot of knowlegeable tilers on this forum giving excellent advice, and i'm soaking it all up like a big fat sponge

ALPHA DOG

Well, i was actually a little surprised by this. Was expecting it to be utter tripe, turns out it wasn't bad at all, even Timberlake surprised me, don't get me wrong, this wasn't an awesome display of acting but it wasn't terrible either.

A true story of some young gangsters who get in way over their head, kidnap a kid and don't really know what to do with him. Jake (Timberlake) gets stuck 'babysitting' the kid and ends up forming a bit of a relationship with him.

Probably worth watching if you have nothing else to watch, you might just be surprised.
