Hi guys,

Is going to use Lithofin Cleaner and StainStop before grouting some slates, but came across different kinds of the brand and wonder if they are all the same to use?

For cleaning:
Lithofin MN Builders Clean or Lithofin MN Power Clean?

For sealing:
Lithofin MN StainStop (no change in colour they say)
Lithofin MN Stainstop Plus (intensify the natural colours to look like wet)
Lithofin 'W' StainStop WST1

Many thanks!
Stina

the builders clean is not suitable for polished marble and limestone whereas the power clean is!

the others are as you say with the colour changes in the sealant apart from the mn,i think that is more for polished tiles:thumbsup:

Cheers, David.

They are slates, and very rough surface. Would the Builders Clean be ok for that or should I use Power Clean would you think?

CTD only have Lithofin 'W' StainStop WST1, which I haven't heard of before only the MN ones hence my question. So you would think that should be ok as the surface is rather rough then?

Cheers again!

the builders clean is supposed to stop stop rust in hard materials so i would go with that and it is slightly cheaper

i use the colour intensifier then stain stop on most slate,,however will be using stain stop plus..which is the 2 mixed in the future,a great product lithofin.i have used there product wexa for dirt removal on flagstones and stone staircases in the past its excellent. is it exisitng laid slate you are looking to clean verona?

Lithofin 'W' StainStop WST1 , this is a water based impregnator instead of solvent based like the MN stainstop..

Dave, does that means that it can be cleaned of with water only - no use of Builders Clean needed I mean?

Why would you want to clean with builders clean after you have sealed..?
Sorry, didn't make that clear but need to seal them before grouting... This product is maybe not meant to be used this way?

Sorry for all my questions, but it has been a while since doing slates and doing a quote for grouting only as the tiler has escaped the job right after fixing the slates only...

Cheers,
Stina

Seal before grouting and they will clean up with water ok after grouting..no need for builders clean....
