Alright guys just gone to quote a job concrete conservatory, builder says he doesn't think theres a damp proof membrane...do i need to paint on a layer of synthaprufe before tiling? if so can i use cement based adhesive directly onto synthaprufe? and is there a risk of damaging the membrane with metal trowell?

or just tile straignt to floor with cement based adhesive?

cheers

Hi

Synthaprufe must have a 50mm screed over the top prior to tiling.

Best to latex over the floor, apply a 2 part water based epoxy membrane,
latex again and then tile as normal.

Ardex, Tretabond and Polybond are just three manufactures to talk to regarding surface damp proof membranes.

Good luck

Keith
