done them by eye with 3mm spacers used as a wedge to hold them there

did our kitchen and one for a customer last month by eye and just used a spirit level to check vertical and horizontal lines all ok. As Dave says, work in grids / small sections

Me eye too never use spacers only on big tiles to stop slipping then take em out......... when i was in germany if they saw you with them SACKABLE OFFENCE
