Feedback on cloakroom WC wall tiling

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Our cloakroom WC has just been tiled (pictures attached) and our contractor says he 'doesn't see an issue' with the gaps between the tiles and the wall (5-6mm gap). There's also void space visible behind tiles i.e. large gaps with no adhesive.

As someone with no experience tiling, I'd have assumed the walls should have be leveled before they started?! Would skimming suffice for this, or would something else be necessary?

There's also a terrible finish on the metal surround, whilst one of the floor tiles is cut / cracked.

Any feedback is much appreciated

That trim should really be mitred or at least sit better than that, it looks rough. Also the tiles look like they've been dot and dabbed onto the wall. Infact, that dosent even look like tile adhesive which they've been stuck on with. Do you know what product they used?
