Re: Bal bond.

PM me your address and I can send a copy of how to do it in the post 🙂

Re: Bal bond.

When you've sanned it in or whatever mate, mind sticking it as an attachment on here too? 😀

I'm jus trying to sort out the dodgy file size limits now though, so you might find it's too big for the forum to accept as an upload but hang in there and you'll be able to do it in a mo.

Re: Bal bond.

is the dot and dab instructions ready?wouldnt mind havin a look at that. sounds very useful

Re: Bal bond.

It would be a good idea if anyone is on a job involving 'dot n dab' either themselves or a plasterer, photograph the stages (application) and post them on the site. I know there are some customers who've never heard of it and don't trust it as being acceptable.🙂

Re: Bal bond.

I am doing a very small bit of dot /dab in a few weeks, so if I have time I will pic and post them.

I am also re boarding a ceiling in the same room if anybody is interested in seeing that?

🙂

Re: Bal bond.

Ta mate. an you run through the Dot and Dab plasterboard for me, as in how to do it.

It's very easy once you have the knack - make sure the plasterboard adhesive is not too sloppy or too stiff - needs to be able to squash in a bit, but also not run down the wall.
First cut all your boards to fit. -For any windows, leave an overhang around - cut off later once dry - this overhang helps keep the board more rigid.

Mark out on the wall where your joints will lay - you need to make sure there is adhesive running along these.
Most important - dot the wall with your adhesive - not the board.
Press boards to wall - this is where it comes in handy to have a long metal straight edge - bang into place a bit at a time & keep checking with spirit level.
Finally run along the outside of your joints & along the gaps inside the window & top near ceiling etc - hey presto - should be ready to tile in 3 / 4 hrs
