Used some Ardex FS black grout last week and it was a dream to use, no worse than grey. Didn't stain everything it touched either. Good stuff.

Marigolds and blue roll covers my ***... However I do insist on a £50 surcharge when using black. Kinda makes sure the customer picks a darker grey...

Anyway done it myself and wasnt too bad. Tilemaster 300 grout...still not my favourite job though.

Id of done it its all in the prep i say i use one washboy for light grouts and one for dark grouts job done.

I'm not a fan of charcoal either but if it got my foot in the door I'd grout it using a finger.
