got a rugby club showers to do over breeze blocks. they are the ones used for interior walls. the aerated ones slightly blue in colour. can i prime and tile or would i be better putting a slurry coat over after priming? 13x10 tiles ceramic and spf addy
I have never had and problems with tiling onto blocks. I use Bal CTF3 (it was specified by the architect) and i have done absolutely miles of the stuff. Never had any problems. 3 major football grounds were done this was and so was a major cricket ground among other sports hall and schools.
We did used to skim over the blocks 1st with the adhesive to make tiling the next day easier though.
Tiling onto breeze blocks will be ok in the showers but if they are thermalites then you will have to tank them...they are very porous and low in density..unlike breeze blocks which are much heavier and dense......
they are the blocks commonly used on interior walls on conservatories prior to plastering.

they are not the thermalite ones. they are the ones that can be cut with a handsaw arent they? they are solid blocks but they have lots of holes on the face of them
