Advise on concrete floor

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Hi all
So I've got over 200 metres on this floor to do
Main area of around 80 and rooms off from this
Concrete been down over 3months so about right for tiling
It's got wet ufh that has been pressure tested but not had water through it
Does it need the ufh on and up to temperature and commissioned
Allowed to cool then tile
Or can it be tiled then ufh brought up gradually
Thanks in advance

It needs to be commissioned and up to temperature etc then let cool down then it should be ready for Tiling.
Won’t hurt to test it for moisture.

Are you sure it’s concrete?
If it’s gypsum it will need to be sanded, commissioned, heated, dried, moisture tested, primed. Then tiled.

Yea sure it's concrete
I'm assuming the commissioning allows the floor to expand
Before the tiles are installed
But is that not the same as bringing it up gradually ?
Thanks

No it’s not. Concrete can warp and move while it dries out, you’d want that all out of the way before anything else.
