How's everyone doing?
Thought I would see who all uses sites like my builder, trust a trader, rated people etc? Are they beneficial to you?
And do you find that when you search for a tiler in your area all these sites get listed and push your own website down the listings.

I don't rate them.....they say they vet the trades that go on there but in reality they just want your money......and it becomes over run with cowboy trades that you don't want to be associated with..
Much better with a decent Web site, or i find yell.com works well for me.

I'm on my builder and find some of the jobs a waste of time and it is full of Cowboys I've got a really decent website and add on yell but can't seem to get far enough up Google.

Have been on check a trade for about six years. Really can't complain brings in lots of work. More refers and recommendations now but gives us scope to be a bit choosie

Saw something on watchdog about those sites, very dodgy business practices, so don't bother myself, just word of mouth and a (work in progress) website.

have you tried scoop, it's a business indexing company, it bumps you up on the pages. It's about £50 a month on a 30 day rolling contract. My brother started using and and his website has moved to the first page, he seems to rate it from work gain point of veiw. I think Facebook community pages also do well for bringing work if your facebook page looks similar to your website.
