I'm sure plenty of you guys have used adesilex P4, is there any thing to be wary of when using it? I've got a balcony to tile (over existing knobbly non slip tiles :yikes🙂and was wondering how freely it flows or does it take quite a bit of trowelling?
thanks in anticipation
Doug

I don't think I've ever used it Doug!
Who makes it and what tile is going down on top of the Knobbly ones?
Hope the weather improves, I was meant to go camping in the lakes but its a hotel now!

John.

It's by Mapei, John. It's the only exterior levelling/smoothing compound they do as far as I can see.
Whereabouts in Lakes you going John?

What's your thoughts on using it doug...P4 is mapei's PTB adhesive but can as you say be used as a smoothing compound..

Can you not just get away with rapid flex.?

Mapei - Its going to be OK then.
I must have used it before moving onto Fibreplan but if its for exterior work I would have used Ardex.
Was going into that remote area called Keswick! Apparently there is no shops or cafes to spoil the tranquillity of the place (thats what the wife says anyway) then onto see Miss Tiggywinkles cottage somewhere in the middle.
It was all planned before the rainy season started or is that the summer in UK.
Good luck with the balcony.
I'am off to flooded Northumberland later in the week to do a Victorian entrance - a change is as good as a rest!

just to give me a good even surface to work off Dave, also the existing tiles haven't been grouted so I was thinking of flooding the joints with it. I'n gonna be using Keraquick + latex for addy.

Rather than mixing adhesives for outside doug why not flat blade the tiles with keraquick and latex plus , leave to dry then tile on that...same product on product then if you see what i mean..

I see what you mean Dave, and I know that Keraquick has a decent pot life, just that when I decided how to tackle job it was about 30 degrees and I thought keraquick would go off too quick, so I ordered adesilex to save me being stuck with a bucketful of set addy:lol:
