Well, the grey blob on the right or the cracked tile on the left...that's 2... but yes send us some more posts like it, great fun -- and very well done, too! When are you going to print money??

Just read all your antics on this post - No ones asked Pebbs to verify - Did you say £25K worth of marble - ie these 4 pieces of book-matched or is this only a part of the whole ?

That's serious loot !!

Richard

Richard, there were in total 6 pieces these 4 and 2 side panels. 25k was the total for these pieces. I went with the architect to Verona, for 3 days for the marble selections. We went crazy with the marble selections, it was beautiful. I dont think I'll ever get another contract like that one. I'll post some photos later this week of the blue marble we did.

I did wonder myself but thought it couldn't have been just those pieces it had to be the whole room

Christ only 6 pieces for £25k! :yikes:

Doug - Your right, a really good thread - Thank you Pebbs for putting this one up - some fun and an insight into how you sourced it.

I look forward to seeing some more photos of the finished work - The book matching is really excellent and the quality of the marble itself is beautiful.

As a side - I'm attaching a photo of 4 pcs of book matched marble [Could be Travertine ?] that a trade customer of mine fitted in a bathroom for a client - I did not install it as I was too busy at the time. Apparently it was so heavy that they drilled into the top and bottom of each piece and inserted metal angled brackets with pins that fitted into the holes in the edge of the marble and fastened them to wall. This was in addition to the adhesive. -

Pebbs - Please send the finished pics when you have a miniute.

Once again - Thanks

Richard,
That is one stunning piece of work, mechanically fixing is a pain, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

I like that Richard, looks really nice!

Pebbs do you get to go on lots of jollys chosing materials then?

Hi Colour Republic

Apparently PVA and a dab or two of Tub addy did not work - funny that ! :75:

I'll try and find out how much it cost - I only know that one of our / his granite suppliers who goes to Italy one a month to source granite bought it to order and it was shipped back with his regular order.

I dont have many jollys nowdays  everyone has clamped down on these trips. If you go its a 4am start and you have to be back the same day. Im a bit of a home bird though because you cant beat getting home and having a lovely cup of tea....OMG I must be getting old!

I dont get ANY jollys! Closest i get is an invite from Aqualisa to do courses on their showers. Hardly Verona!! Although i have been and it is lovely

As for the tea, no age on a good cuppa (unless its TJ and his coffee)
