Hi,

I'm selling my ultra relaible VW Caddy van. I got this when I was just starting out and she has served me very well indeed. She's next to nothing to insure and run and has a great load capacity.

She's a 98 R plater in red. Ex local authority and I'm only the 3rd owner. She's got 94k on her. Since I've owned her she has had no real issues. I bought her with no MOT and she cost a couple of hundred to get through, just routine disks and pads and a couple of bulbs but nothing major. She's also had a new fan belt and water piping fitted as well as new glow plugs. Cam belt was done on 88k by previous owner.
She runs great and never overheats. She has a huge loading capacity for a little van and I've never been left wanting by load space. She's extreemly flexible as she has a rear fold away seat conversion so you can carry up to 4 people and still have a huge boot for the dog/shopping.
She does not have the usual workhorse dents and is in great overall condition. There's a tiny amount of surface rust on the arches but hardly noticable at all (rub down and respray at home would sort out any cosmetics if you deemed it necesary). She has a small scuff on the front drivers side bumper but again it's a tiny cosmetic and doesn't affect the van.
All I have in history is the last and previous MOT, 5 months remaining (as with tax). She's cheap to run around £6 diesel and 6 litres oil a week gets me the 150, mile weekly commute, she's mega cheap to insure as well.

£1000 pics available on request.

Re: 98 (R) Polo (6K) Caddy Van 1.9 SD.

I'm open to offers on this chaps.
Can't believe there's no new tilers who need a cheap, reliable, super economical little van to get them started. May even swap if your considering selling the car for a van. I know what it was like when I had to do this, scarey but worth it.

This was by far and away the best condition van I saw when I was looking for one. All the old Escort and Trannies had huge dents and rust, not to mention smokey engines. I would never go French either from the reports I've heard of the Berlingo and Partner efforts. So reliable German it was.

Here's some pics of her as she stands.

Small scrape to passenger side front bumper.

Little rust on the arches, but not rotten, completely solid underneath as well.

Hi Devon,

Nice van good price, top bargin for someone on a tight budget.

From a mechanic's point of view cannot not recommend German engineering enough, diesel engine is solid will run for ever if serviced on a regularly.

I've got a Golf estate, 175 thou on the clock still runs like a dream, just add fuel and oil.

Will outlast Frog crap by years hpe you sell it soon.

Cheers Poolie.
Had a few jobs done when I first got her for the mot (disks and pads and a few bulbs) and since then she's been a little star. She's pretty low miles for a van of her age too.
Couldn't go with anything other than the Dubs or Vauxhall.
She'll make a cracking little atarting point for someone I'm sure.

What is it they teach you at training, get a van it looks more professional than the back of a car.

My Frog rubbish is still going strong...........Kangoo with 130K on the clock now. W reg and in the 3 years I have had it...........never let me down......starts first time.

Would get another tomorrow:thumbsup:

No intent to upset CJ, I've just had some bad times with Frenchies thats all. Looks like you got a good one.

Not too sure on what I'm doing Varley bud, but doubt I'm going to need the van as much as previously. I have no long term or short term ability to plan ahead with the way things are mate.
I know what you mean though the van is that good at the minute and the price of fuel and the tiny amount I spend to fuel it it makes more sense to keep her.
