thread

In computer science, a thread of execution is the smallest sequence of programmed instructions that can be managed independently by a scheduler, which is typically a part of the operating system. The implementation of threads and processes differs between operating systems, but in most cases a thread is a component of a process. The multiple threads of a given process may be executed concurrently (via multithreading capabilities), sharing resources such as memory, while different processes do not share these resources. In particular, the threads of a process share its executable code and the values of its dynamically allocated variables and non-thread-local global variables at any given time.

    Van Security Thread

After seeing this on the plumbing forum I thought it's wise for us to share van security tips, and van models to avoid (this is Mk7 Transit - has no top runner on the door which apparently allows you to stand on the door and simply bend it in a few seconds). Alarms, dead locks, chains on the...

Do we NEED "who has read a thread" option?

I've had a couple of messages about this who has read a thread option. And I'm starting to think it could cut back on the amount of people feeling comfortable posting in a thread, if they think somebody with more skill or knowledge has read the thread, but not replied. So this is the...

    Bodge or not thread

Seems the tiler did follow the former here: Bodged Or Not? You'll notice me avoiding blaming the tiler all through the thread. I had a feeling the customer wanted us to say he was wrong so he'd redo it. But I'm glad I said otherwise now. As it he did follow the former. I've suggested the...

Best Way To Insert Images In A Thread

I've been playing around with images to see what the best way to add them to a thread is. Seems adding them as an attachment and then inserting them all as a thumbnail is best for a couple of reasons. First you can browse through all images using the lightbox pop up. So the black box with...
