Has anybody used this tongue and groove flooring board as a floating floor rather than waterproof chipboard? im just wondering how well it does when not screwed to joists!
I believe HardiFloor has been discontinued now but no more ply still produce it.
Thanks
Hi guys, I'm in need of around 50m of board to line some of the interior of an endless pool project. Have got a price out of Nicobond, (their version of Lux Elements 12mm), but was wondering if I could get a better price elsewhere. Open to options in material and merchant.
Cheers.

Hi, (first post so be kind!), I am a competent DIY'er and have done numerous kitchen and bathrooms refurbishments in my time, but the boss now wants a wet room!! typical! I wonder if I could pick your brains and experience on recommendations of tile backer board systems. There appears to be...
Shortly I hope to tile a wall ( skimed plaster board ) that has previously been painted with matt emulsion. The plan is to sand / grind off the paint, then prime and tile. The tile wt.is within the loading capacity.
Questions.
Is the wall prep ok?
Can I use BAL ADP primer with Mapei adhesive...
Hi Everyone,
My plan is to install Kerdi Board in my bathroom, tank it, then tile. I was going to get a 3 way shower mixer (Bristan Descent) but when I look at the installation instructions it shows a cut out section at the front (to access the valves presumably). My question is how do I ensure...

Do you think, from floor to ceiling, 12mm thick plywood plus 12mm thick cement board (e.g. Hardiebacker type board or similar) plus metro tiles is a tolerable weight to be attached to timber stud?
Wall would be 1 metre wide by 2.3 metre high
Hello,
I am new here, need some help please.
I am tanking a small bathroom with Marmox multiboard or Wedi board (probably Marmox it is cheaper).
However there is a sloped ceiling which will partially be in the shower cubicle and get wet, it intrudes into the room quite far down to 150cm from...
I'm going to be installing marmox boards in my new bathroom onto the brick walls using the dot and dab and dowel fixing method but would just like to clarify what to do at the joints.
In wet areas I've read that you use the marmox waterproof sealing tape and dry/damp areas just self adhesive...
Hi
Had a lot of over boarding of ceilings of late so invested in a dewalt autofeed driver. Great bit of kit but wonder if its any use for fixing hardie board down. If anyones used it with sucess what screws are they using. Cheers

In a new wet room there will be many butt joints in the tile backer board/ insulation board on the walls & the floor. I plan to use expensive self adhesive waterproof tape around the shower former. However to use this tape everywhere would be very expensive so could I use self adhesive scrim...
Hi I am currently doing my bathroom and before tiling the floor had planned on laying 6mm warm-up insulation board directly on to my existing floor which is 22mm tongue and groove floorboards. Can anyone advise if ok to do this as there is little information to be found online.
Hi all, some advice would be helpful here. I have a job coming up with natural stone. Part of the floor is being heated with a 12m2 mat. The substrate is a 20yr old concrete screed. My question is my insulation board choice. The mat will be a 200 pro warm mat. I believe that a 6mm board would be...
Hi all, first post so apologies if I don't get my questions quite right and ask too many; I am looking for some advice on a new shower enclosure project.
I am currently remodelling my main bathroom and plan to do most of it myself (except for the tiling.)
I am a reasonably experienced DIY'er...
The question is in the title really
Do you guys tend to use one or the other or both
I know the jobs vary but just as a general rule?
Cheers
Duncan
Sorry if it's been asked before. I did search
Hello ,
Ive got to tile a wall hung wc box covered in OSB3, any advice for preparing board before tiling, ie primer. Im concerned that the tiles wont stick to the wax like board, or should I clad it in tiling board and screw the backer board to the OSB, my problem with that is the connections...
