10mm Marmox on shower stud walls?

Just ripped a shower out and the walls were standard ply just tiled straight on top (hence all the tiles falling off!). It would be handy to grab another couple of mm due to the new tiles being a lot thicker, so I was going to use 10mm Marmox board. Sounds like it's suitable according to Marmox...

Retile after tile removal damaged Marmox board

I needed to replace 3 tiles and in removing the old ones the backer board has got damaged - the tiles were on Marmox board so it damages fairly easily. I'm guessing there is no way to effectively repair the board so I think the way forward would be to remove the existing board that is exposed...

Hi, I was going to use some Mapei Super Flexible Adhesive I have kicking about (which I've just found out is specially fomulated for B&Q - which is ringing alarm bells as I'm sure it will likely be inferior). I rang Mapei and they said dont use that! Instread, sand the floor to create a key...

    Dot n Dab Marmox

Is it okay to Dot n Dab 6mm Marmox to walls (screw fixing through the dabs) or does it need to be thicker than the 6mm? Edit. Answered my own question - Marmox web site says 12.5mm for dot n dab, any thickness for continuous bed.

Marmox V Hardiebacker or Brick Wall

Hello all, I'm undecided about Tiling on Brick wall. The fitter has agreed to remove remaining layer of mortar back to the Brick Wall. I am in no doubt there will be areas on the Brick Wall that will bear some minor damage. The issue is, do I get the damaged parts filled in before tiling...

So I'm pricing up a job just now and the architect has specd up 2500x600x10mm wedi board over chipboard, electric heating over that and then tiled. Apart from the fact he has missed out slc over cables I cannot see this being viable. The addy choice between chipboard and wedi was Mapei ultra...
