Hello everyone, the bathroom is finally finished, well almost. In the end the original tiler came and put it right. We had the bad wall tiled over and had polyurethane coving and skirting fitted to hide the big gaps. It looks ok now. The only thing left to do is Silicon, which I am going to...

Minimum tile adhesive depth for over tiling

Has anybody taken tiles off plasterboard that have been put on with a tile adhesive. How easily do they come off? Any advice on method/tools to get them off with least damage. Looks like my bank holiday weekend is sorted.

You're right, but if they go on well and everything fits then what am I losing later?

Minimum tile adhesive depth for over tiling

I posted previously about a tiling job that has gone a bit wrong. One wall either needs to come off or ideally be tiled over. The problem with tiling over is a concern that the quadrant shower cubicle may not fit. The shower cubicle has 20mm of adjustment, but 5mm already used, so 15mm left...

Clearly not a tiler by trade. Builder brought him in as part of a loft conversion. Part of the bathroom isn't too bad. I think a combination of lack of care and attention to detail, which are paramount if tiling skill is limited. I'll never have a job done in future by someone who isn't...

I'll take all tips on board when liaising with tiler. I'm interested to know how you professional tillers would have laid out this space. Whether there are different ideas on approach. On left side is a shower quadrant. On right side mirror cabinet and sink.

Yes, I think I'm going to get it redone, I guess tiles don't come off to easily from plasterboard. Better sometimes to take a step back before continuing. Thanks all for your help and advice.

That's the sort of thing Paul, thing is I don't think 15mm is big enough to cover it, more like 25-30mm. That's quite big. Does anyone bathroom have this sort of corner finish by choice? Maybe high end bathroom - lol. I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking to rip the ffing lot out...

Ha Ha Paul thanks, that's the first time I've laughed in days. 1. the toilet is over the other side of the room, so no risk there, but could get balls cut off having a shower. I don't fancy that. 2. yes 3. forget it. is there a compromise where I could get them to take the slither and one...
