    I’m waiting that answer myself from the plumber who’s doing it, all I know at present is it’s overlay system with 18mm gypsum boards. I have a solfex overlay in my own house and was recommended to use ditra even though they state it can be tiled directly. Tiles are 600 x 600 10mm porcelain.

    I use dewalt dcr017 and after 3 years the only fault it’s had is snapped off aerial, just lean I big screwdriver against the aerial base and it’s fine.

    Never go by what a builder has done when fitting a kitchen lol. Defo cut the the intermediate panel Defo tile under end panel as it so quick easy to remove,’why risk it? I’ve replaced many panels due to water damage, if there tiled in the it’s a bugger

    For me I always have flooring under the end panels then a small bead of clear mastic to seal. This way if/when the panel blows it can be easily replaced without damage to floor.
