    Reno extras mounting up

It is a lot more labour intensive to lay tiles imo. With a wooden floor you don't have to worry about things like priming, lippage, grouting or adhesive, just lay the underlay down and crack on. In my opinion £600 extra is not an unreasonable extra changing from wood/laminate etc to a 20x20...

    Reducing thickness of tile

I very much doubt it, marble is quite a soft stone and to try and cut it in half depth wise would be nearly impossible, but im no expert and there may well be a way. Saying that your best bet would probably trying to grind it down rather than cut it?

    Window tile trim-to-tile grout line?

I generally leave a gap of around 2mm, enough to get a nice bit of grout or Silicon into. Your tile is a glazed crackle, if your not careful the grout could stick into that crackle and discolour it, for the sake of a bottle of sealant its worth doing. Just google glaze crackle sealer or nip...

Wall prep for tiling, sealing and tanking

If the paint is clean and stable, then yes just tank over it. With regards to priming, the one I use doesn't require a primer before tiling but id check the instructions on yours. Yes, prime the painted, untanked areas. I would of course run it past the tiler, as if any of it fails it could...

    Window tile trim-to-tile grout line?

I generally do leave a gap, especially if its a niche in a wet area. Don't forget to seal them tiles before grouting

Mapei Ultracolor plus Grout for porcelain tiles?

I found the ultra-colour grout to be really good to use. The home renovation guy you watched is from the US so the heat there might have something to do with it. As Paul says, just mix a small bit and see how you get on. Make sure you use the correct ratios. Just be careful if the tiles are...

    Joist Levelling

I normally use the 30 min stuff, and that's only really to stop any squeaking that may occur in the future. As Dave said don't over complicate it, its only 2-3mm, your going to be using SLC anyway.

    Joist Levelling

I would use a polyurethane wood glue under the ply on the joists, this will expand to fill the gaps, I reckon tile adhesive would probably crumble over time. Any deviation in the level once the ply has been laid could be lost in the backer board overlay either hardie or foam type..

    sealing/tanking

I would attach timber battens to every wall where the bath will meet, at the bottom of the bath lip, obviously making sure you've got the correct position and level etc. Then when your going to fit the bath, a nice big line of gripfil or pink grip along the battens so the bath squidges into...

Anyone know how to tile on seraphite? Primer?

iirc even if it is sand and cement it should be primed, the only thing I don't prime is backer board.

Anyone know how to tile on seraphite? Primer?

Not having any idea what seraphite is, I would be tempted to mechanically fix backer board over it then tile to that, just to be safe.

    Intermediate Tiler need HELP.... Thankyou

I think they waterfall rather than trickle. I would test it to find out or speak to the supplier just to be sure. The cladding im guessing is probably a split face type stone which comes in varying depths, the mosaic is probably around 3mm, So i reckon you'll be able to 'lose' the lip in the...

    Carpet runner on Marble staircase

I would go with the suggestion/experience of the re-finisher, I haven't had the pleasure of coming across this situation but it sounds like the finisher has, I would go with what he suggests..

    70m2 floor

Make sure you fill the membrane holes, and remember to back butter the tile. Use a good quality flexible adhesive and some knee pads 😃

    70m2 floor

If I was doing the job id look at it as 3 separate areas, therefore they seem more manageable. Make sure the ply has no deflection Use a uncoupling membrane on the concrete Look at each area and try and figure out how long they would take individually then add them up, then add a day or two...

    Tiles coming up easily

Did the tiles come off the adhesive? or the tile and adhesive off the floor? Were the tiles back buttered? Did you prime floor?

Newly laid Sandstone patio has faded

Were they sealed? I'm just guessing so don't just go and get them sealed without input from someone who knows for sure but im pretty sure they need to be or can be sealed with a sealant which might bring out their colour. Id probably test some on an offcut or spare piece if you have some first.

    Wet Cutter Machine Advice

Just use a score/snap cutter and a diamond pad to smooth the edges, they should be siliconed anyway when butting up against a door frame and vanity unit.
