Residual moisture in new build floor

1579117426 Hi Julian, I’m using rapid set (Topp’s tiles own brand). Yes it’s between the tiles and mat where I’ve noticed the moisture. That being said I’ve not yet lifted the durabase to have a look. I’m a bit stuck with how to proceed as my gut feeling is the floor hasn’t had enough time to...

Residual moisture in new build floor

Hello guys, I am in need of some advice. I’ve started tiling the entire downstairs of a new build property (Bovis). I’ve used Dural durabase as a decoupler and started tiling. I noticed the next day that the adhesive wasn’t drying fully and looked damp in places. I lifted a tile and the addy...

    Outdoor tiling

Yes it’s porcelain paving from Pavestone. The exterior floor is tiled with them and the customer wanted the planter beds dressed with the same stuff. The walls are no more than a 12 inches tall. It’s hard to know if it’s even suitable for that type of application. Thanks for your help

    Outdoor tiling

Evening all, I’ve been asked to tile some exterior walls. When I say walls, they are planter beds made of breeze blocks. I’m not sure what the tiles are made of as customer was unsure but they are about an inch thick. Would a rapid setting flexible adhesive be suitable to stick the tiles to the...

    Salum gold opus limestone

Exactly Andy! That’s what I’m finding. I’ve been dry laying batch first to see how they sit together then trying to apply the same look with adhesive! It’s a real pain staking process but I think they will look fine once grouted in. Thanks for your reply, you’ve made me feel a lot better!

    Concrete floor to floorboards

The floor looks pretty good and there is no UFH. I’ve been round to see the customer this evening as the existing floor has now been removed. It’s a bit of a tricky one as only part of the entrance hall is floor boards and the concrete floor is exactly the same height as the wooden section. If I...

    Concrete floor to floorboards

Evening all, I’ve recently looked at a job where there are wooden floor boards in an entrance hall that lead into a kitchen that has a concrete floor. Customer wants both kitchen and entrance hall tiled. I’m going to cement board the hall way to reinforce the floor before tiling. Would I need...

    Waterproofing plaster walls

good morning all, I’ve got a customer who’s had a shower installed in their bathroom when there was only a bath before. The plumber has chased the pipe work for the shower into the walls. It’s an old property and the walls aren’t the best! My question is can you still use a waterproofing kit on...
