Hi Folks,

I laid a sandstone patio a few years back.

Now after spending ages jet-washing and re-grouting several times over, I think it's time to apply a sealant.

I'm looking for a matt finish impregnator/sealer and from trawling the web, it sounds like LTP Mattstone does the job for less cash than most.

I have also found a dry finish sealer from a local firm called Smartseal.

Does anybody have views on either product or a glowing recommendation for anything else?

Cheers
Terry

Hi There,

Just a follow-up. I did use the LTP Mattstone and it has brought out the colour very well without making it look shiny.

I gave it three coats to be sure using about 8 litres for the 9x5m area.

The one unexpected side-effect is that now it is sealed, any rain or spilt water now sits in puddles or droplets for ages on the surface (it won't all drain away because of the undulations in the stones).

Cheers

Best I can do - I'm not sure it shows the effect though.
