Washboy sponge leaving a bubbled film when cleaning off. Why?

Hey all, No I have not filled it with fairy liquid etc! It is just seems when sponging off it is leaving a slightly bubbled appearance.

I hope that make sense. Tried a new sponge and again the same. Had original sponge for circa 5 months now so should be broken in. It seems to more evident on polished porcelain.

Any ideas?

Sorry should of added, using a sliced sponge.

rinse the sponge as dry as possible pass over the tiles a little slower maybe

Try saturating the sponge for a few hours before grouting

Bri Have had this with Weber, Tilemaster and Bal.

I had something very similar happen with Weber grout on a polished porcelain, it's the only time it's happened. The tiles still polished up ok.

I try and use the minimum of water....

It's only happened with me on polished porcelain.
I wouldn't worry about it as it does polish up perfect.

Yes, now you mention webber, it does seem to bubble up something awful!!!

I get that a lot these days I just buff the tiles while the dust is still soft

It was on the floor

Jeff...it happens and is not a worry.. but DO NOT leave it to dry in the joints.. this will lead to polymer leaching.

Just an update. Just grouted up 45 metres this morning on a floor using Weber. Left as long as possible initially then wiped off and it seems the added pressure to remove the residue increases this effect almot like you are activating the polymer again.
Then tried cleaning off after about 10 minutes. As long as you did not hurry the sponge it seemed to work okay, not perfect but better. As others have said it may just be Weber I will see with other grouts and let you guys know.
